Circulator Boot Saves Limbs from Amputation
The Circulator Bootâ„¢, invented by Dr. Richard Dillon, has had a 93% success rate in preventing amputations. The Circulator Boot-TM is a system of equipment which includes the Mini-Boot and Long-Boot Valve Assembly and Heart Monitor.
The Circulator Bootâ„¢ is the only cardio-synchronous compression device approved by the FDA for patients with peripheral arterial disease, diabetic foot, ischemic ulcers, rest pain, claudication, venous stasis, and lymphedema. The device is non-invasive and is included under Medicare and GSA Schedules and is approved for use by the Veterans Administration.
The use of the Circulator Bootâ„¢ in limb salvage supports the core elements of wound therapy: increased blood supply, bacterial control, moisture and debridement. Combined with the use of local antibiotic injections, boot therapy may improve the blood supply and control the infection in patients with osteomyelitis and necrotizing cellulitis when standard methods of treatment are failing.
The Circulator Bootâ„¢ benefits heart function and all of the circulations in the body: arterial, venous and lymphatic. It is noninvasive and its use is contraindicated only by the presence of fresh deep vein thrombi in the
legs and/or aortic valvular insufficiency associated with heart failure.
Over 8,000 patients (300,000 treatments) in the United States and around the world have been treated by the Circulator Boot for non-responsive wounds and legs at risk of amputation. For additional evidence on the therapeutic benefits of Circulator Boot treatments, please review the clinical studies and case histories found at www.circulatorboot.com.
