New Website on Nutrition and Aging
A new on-line resource is available to people who are interested in exploring the link between nutrition and aging. Now the HealthSpan Institute brings together the best minds on the subject for the benefit of the public, health care professionals, academia and the health conscious self-care manager.
The HealthSpan Institute – supported by HealthSpan Solutions LLC, makers of BeneVia® nutritional beverages – includes information on healthy aging developed by a panel of nutrition and aging experts. It provides visitors with valuable insights from expert bloggers and cutting-edge nutrition research.
In addition to its consumer focus, the HealthSpan Institute provides customized information to health professionals. The Institute’s corps of bloggers will provide easy-to-use nutrition and health tips for adults actively combating the effects of aging.
One of our expert bloggers, John Morley, MSSB, Professor of Geriatrics, Saint Louis University Medical School, together with HealthSpan Solutions recently re-published The Science of Staying Young. It is available free to health care practitioners and with proof of purchase to consumers at www.gobenevia.com. He is also a contributing blogger for stltoday.com’s “Health matters” blog.
The HealthSpan Institute’s audience also includes health and nutrition professionals. The site has aggregated some of the most influential peer-reviewed research on nutrition and aging. As the body of research in the field continues to grow, HealthSpan Institute experts will compile the information and provide important context for health and nutrition professionals.
As part of its commitment to the best clinical research on nutrition and aging, the HealthSpan Institute plans to invest millions of dollars into academic research over the next five years. Through a variety of company-funded grants and programs based at the National Institutes of Health, the company will continue to expand its research pipeline focused on healthy aging and the benefits provided by nutritional support.
